Harlem Eubank is on a mission. He considers the confrontation of this evening with Tyrone McKenna as more than another fight – it is a springboard towards her ultimate goal of a world title.
The 32 -year -old man has his eyes on the greatest boxing prices, and although names like Conor Benn and Adam Azim can cross his path, his main objective is to chase the glory of the championship.
“For me, this fight is to push towards the dreams of world title,” said Eubank to send an email to Sport. “If these names (Benn and Azim) line up on the track path, then we ship them along the way. But this year is the zoning and pursuit of these world title opportunities.
“These are the dreams I started with. These are these dreams that led me to the gymnasium and made me devote my life to sport in the past 12 years. So yes, I will continue these dreams, and it’s a big step on this trajectory.
Eubank’s determination comes after what he admits was the most difficult year of his career. An extended spell on the ring left him mentally and physically exhausted, forcing him to rediscover his passion for sport.
“2024 was definitely the most difficult year I had,” he admitted. “Being out of the ring for so long while constantly preparing for battle is really difficult. This can make you exhaust mentally and physically.

“The frustrations of not being able to translate what you are working on in the ring are so frustrating. Many things come into play and there is a lot of tension mentally. You can almost lose confidence in the sport in which you have invested so much time.
“This year is therefore roughly a new state of mind. Win this love for the sport that I have always transported, this passion, this creativity, and go there and do this translate into my performance.
His return to the ring – which has teamed as its beginnings with Welters weights – last year did not show his best, something he can’t wait to change against McKenna.
“I think the best version of me remains to be seen. When you’re out of the ring for so long, I just needed to go back there. I had no opponent who came to try to spoil the party.
“He didn’t try to come and win. Which can cause the case. But, people have certainly not seen the best of me. They saw glimps of what I can do. I am delighted to show people what I am capable of this year.
McKenna is not an easy opponent. The Irishman is tested in combat, having fought some of the biggest names in British boxing, and entered this fight in fine form after a dominant stop victory.
“I think he is a good fighter,” said Eubank. “I think it is at its peak, based on its latest performance. He took a stop victory, as you said. You know, two or three laps, taking out this guy from there. So you know, you must say that it is in good shape. He is in good running.
“He recovered his energy for sport. He started his training camp in Germany. He separated from the distractions and he is more concentrated than ever. This is the most targeted phase of his career, and it says a lot because he was in the block.
“He’s in the world level, you know. He fought some of the biggest domestic names and has always brought a difficult and robust fight. I expect the best version of him on Friday evening. I think he is at a stage in his career where he wants resurgence, and he will bring 110%.
Far from his own career, Harlem looked at the accumulation of the highly anticipated confrontation of Chris Eubank Jr with Conor Benn. The rivalry recently took a bizarre turn when Eubank Jr slapped Benn with an egg – a playful wink to the controversy surrounding Benn’s screening tests, which were linked to the clomifen, a fertility medication that can be found in contaminated eggs.
“I was as entertained as everyone,” admitted Harlem. “It’s very well thought out. A little light entertainment that brought back a multilayer story on eggs.
“It brought people who ask the right questions again. It is a sport where things are forgotten very quickly. So yes, a little light humor that brought the right questions back to the fore.
Many were surprised by the buffoonery of Eubank Jr, but Harlem insists that it was entirely of character.
“I don’t think it’s out of character. I think Chris knows how to produce and prick people. He knows how to choose the right thing to do at the right time. He clearly thought it was the right time to do this for Conor Benn. Obviously, by the reaction of the public, he chose judiciously.
“Yes, I think Chris is good in the promotional side of sport. He is able to bring sport in contact with people who are not necessarily fans of hardcore boxing.
“I heard people talking about the slap of eggs in several places where you generally do not hear the boxing discussed. By walking around in stores, you hear people’s conversations, and that’s what they were talking about. So, in all honesty, Chris promotes.

A persistent question is whether Chris Eubank Sr will come back to the corner of his son for Benn’s fight. Their relationship has been complex in recent years, but Harlem is not excluded a meeting
Regarding the fight itself, Harlem thinks that his cousin has a clear advantage over Benn – not just physically, but mentally.
“I think that we have seen right now, there is a gap not only physically but mentally. We have seen this inadequacy mentally in the accumulation of this fight. In terms of ring, Chris has ten steps forward. We have seen it in the accumulation, and we will see it in the ring.

‘I hope so. But it is between junior and senior. Hopefully, closer to the time, they can do it together. If senior takes the right position to be involved and is happy to be part of it, we could see it.
“So let’s see closer to what’s going on. You can never harm the perspective that Senior coming to steal the show.
