The American Grand Master Hans Niemann will undergo a lie detection polygraph test after losing an 18 game Blitz match against the Russian director general Daniil Dubov. Niemann had challenged Dubov for a force test in the latter’s original lawn, which apparently would take place a dispute between them, with the condition that the loser had to answer a question with a polygraphic test.

Niemann was in Moscow to participate in the Open Aeroflot, which took place between March 1 and 6, and faced Dubov in the Blitz game series just after the event, March 7 and 8. The Grand Master Russian ended up triumphing over Niemann, who made the headlines mainly for his quarrel with Magnus Carlsen in the world n ° 1, by a margin of 9.5 to 8.5.

Why Niemann challenged Dubov to the force test in Moscow

Dubov was to go head-to-face with Niemann in the World Blitz Championship in New York in December, but did not show up on the day of the match. The 21 -year -old American ended up winning the match by forfeit and would qualify for the KO by drawing his next three games. He later withdrew from the event in the quarterfinals after losing against the fierce rival Carlsen.

Dubov said he fell asleep in his hotel room and couldn’t wake up in time for his meeting with Niemann.

When will Niemann undergo the polygraphic test?

Niemann, who had defeated the Grand Maître Indien vidit Gujrathi and the Dutch managing director Anish Giri, among others, also reached the semi-finals of the chess championship in September, agreed to fill the state of the match by answering a question with a polygraphic test.

Niemann, however, did not suffer the test immediately after his defeat against Dubov. Details as long as he suffers the test will be announced later.

How Dubov won an exciting victory over Niemann

The matches were played with a 3 + 2 -stroke check and took place in two days. Dubov finished the first day with an advance of 5.5-3.5, with regard to his opponent with a hat-trick of victories in 6-8 matches.

Niemann, however, organized an impressive fight day 2 to take the game in depth. He collected three out of four victories between matches 13 to 17 to go to the level with his opponent at 8.5 points each after conceding an advance of 7.5-4.5 in Russian GM.

Dubov, however, won the 18th decisive match in 68 movements while playing with white pieces, to win a victory in the fascinating battle against Niemann.
