The Lions have lost their two coordinators, but they will not lose the coach of the offensive line Hank Fraley.
Fraley’s wife posted on social networks that the family stays in Detroit, and several journalists said that he had confirmed that he would remain in Lions staff.
Fraley had been a candidate to follow the former coordinator of the Lions Ben Johnson Lions in Chicago and join the Bears staff, to become the attacking coordinator in Seattle. Instead, he will neither do nor the other and will remain in Detroit.
The Lions head coach Dan Campbell will offer Fraley a promotion to manage the game coordinator in addition to the offensive line coach.
Fraley, 47, has been in Detroit since the Lions hired him as assistant coach of the offensive line in 2018. He was promoted coach of the offensive line in 2020 and continued when Campbell became head coach in 2021. Before becoming a coach, he was a center of the NFL for a decade.
