Halsey Channeled Cher Wearing Gigantic Hip Cutouts

Halsey stepped back in time with a Cher-inspired red carpet look that could have been transported straight from an ’80s nightclub. As the “Without Me” singer stepped out for the world premiere of MaXXXine On Monday night, she looked like the iconic singer in a gold sequinned two-piece set that flaunted her toned stomach and abs, thanks to gigantic hip cutouts.

Halsey looked like she was taking fashion inspiration from a golden disco ball in the Bronx and Banco Cleopatra two-piece dress, which featured a tiny underboob sequin bra top with thick straps and a matching maxi skirt in the same glitter material. The skirt’s bold design — a nod to Cher’s many ab-baring looks — was achieved thanks to the extremely low skirt and huge cutouts that plunged all the way below Halsey’s hip bones.

Halsey gave the “Believe” singer the biggest nod with her beauty look. She wore her hair in voluminous black curls and paired them with barely-there eyebrows, thick black eyeliner, sculpted cheeks and a metallic pink lip, all ’80s staples.

Walking the red carpet with co-stars Lily Collins, Mia Goth and Elizabeth Debicki, Halsey confirmed she took inspiration from the singer for her “very Hollywood” look.

She said The Hollywood Reporter, “I wanted a little bit of Cher from the late 70s, early 80s, you know what I mean? The big hair and the open-belly figure, and a bit of Grace Jones on the face with the eye makeup. I was kind of watching these divas who changed the times in the late ’70s, catching up to the ’80s.”
