During the gala, Moore went on stage to say a few words about the honor “extremely humiliating”. “I must say that all, and be here, made me think a lot about time,” she said. “We continue it, we plan it, we say that we do not have enough – or that we lack that. And sometimes, if we are honest, we waste it, think or stress, things that have not happened, or relive things that we have already survived.”
She continued explaining that “so far”, she had spent a lot of her time not to appreciate what she had. “But when I had the courage to take a break,” she continued, “to stop, stop running, I found grace, compassion, and above all, acceptance, because when we kiss who we are, where we are, exactly as we are, we stop missing the moment when we are. The truth is, you cannot run out of time when you live in the present.”
