“A general tax increase of 10 percent. Another record debt. A Russian victory that will lead to more war. With the world on fire and a domestic crisis, with Trump, it’s just more chaos,” the narrator says.
Speaking to radio host Hugh Hewitt on Tuesday morning, Haley doubled down: “An unhinged president is a dangerous president,” she said.
Haley’s ad comes as her presidential campaign continues to struggle, losing last week in Nevada’s Republican primary to the “none of the above” designation. In an increasingly long-running campaign, the former U.N. ambassador repeatedly and targetedly took shots at her former boss, criticizing his mental health, legal problems and foreign policy remarks .
In South Carolina, 75% of Republican voters surveyed said it made no difference whether Haley was from the state — where she served as governor — when they went to the polls, according to a CBS News poll published Monday. Sixty-five percent of those surveyed also said they would vote for Trump.
The video also comes on the heels of Trump’s controversial comments over the weekend at a campaign rally. He said that when he was in office, he told NATO leaders that he would “encourage” Russia to do “whatever it wants” to alliance members who fall short of not the group’s spending targets.
Haley blasted Trump for his remarks, saying “that’s the kind of comment that makes Joe Biden look clear-eyed.”
His comment “should send chills down everyone’s spine,” Haley said, adding that it “lacks moral clarity.”
