Gwyneth Paltrow, 52, abandons his strict paleo diet.
In the Tuesday episode of her “Goop“Podcast, Paltrow explained how his relationship with food has changed over the years.
“I went to hardcore macrobiotics for a while. It was an interesting chapter where I became obsessed with very, very healthy consumption,” said Paltrow.
This was partly because of her father’s health, she said: “I think I was really trying to heal my father by proxy, and he just didn’t want to do with that.” His father died in 2002 after fighting throat cancer.
The founder of Goop began to think more critically about the types of food she put in her body.
“But the beauty of this one, for me, was that I really approved my connection with food and all this philosophy around macrobiotics, which is essentially just how they eat in the mountains of Japan,” said Paltrow. “So, very local, very seasonal, a lot of fish and vegetables, rice, no dairy products, no sugar, and Cetera.”
Although the star of “Shakespeare in Love” says that she “could have been a little didactic on this subject”, all she wanted to do was to share her food philosophy with all those she knew.
“I think I was so surprised that, you know, we had this power in our hands that if we treat ourselves well, hydrated and eat whole foods, we could feel so much better,” said Paltrow.
She added that she was “intoxicated” by this idea and always feels the same thing to this day.
“But that’s the reason why Brad and I became Paleo a few years ago now, although I’m a little fed up, if I’m honest and I start to eat bread with sourdough and cheese,” said Paltrow. “There, I said it. A little pasta, after being strict with so long.”
“But again, I think it’s a good kind of model, right? Eating food that is a little whole and fresh as possible,” she added.
A paleo diet is supposed to be based on how old human ancestors have eaten and include foods such as lean meat, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. It emphasizes the consumption of unprocessed foods, and grains and dairy products are prohibited.
Paltrow’s comments occur months after his business, Goop, told Women’s Wear Daily that it was a restructuring.
The company was moving away Well-being, house and travel and focus on beauty, fashion and food instead. He will double his goop beauty and his good GOOP Clean beauty brands, his Label clothing line, and Goop Cuisine.
Paltrow previously detailed its strict diet and well-being routine during an interview for the podcast “The Art to Be Well” in 2023.
Its restrictive diet, which has aroused many criticisms from Internet users and dietitians, included coffee in the morning, bone broth for lunch and a paleo diet for dinner.
A Paltrow representative did not immediately respond to a request for comments sent by Business Insider outside regular hours.
