GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A local attorney was arrested in September after officers responded to a call about an argument at Publix, according to the Guntersville Police Department.
On September 27, officers responded to a call regarding an argument between two people at Publix. As they drove to the store, the dispatcher said one of the people involved was “actively ramming their vehicle” into the other’s vehicle.
The suspect left before GPD arrived; however, they then stopped a vehicle matching the description they had been given. The driver was identified as Laura Givens.
The investigation revealed that the individuals involved were former associates.
According to his website, Givens was an elderly attorney in the Marshall County area. The Alabama State Bar Association says his license is inactive.
Givens was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and driving under the influence. The view from the Marshall County Jail shows she was also charged with harassment.
She was held in the Marshall County Jail on $100,000 bail.
