Gunners fan Darren Bent gives Arsenal transfer shortlist as ex-Premier League striker identifies Gabriel Jesus, Yves Bissouma and Christopher Nkunku as dream targets

Former Premier League striker and Arsenal fan Darren Bent has listed three players he would like to see the Gunners sign this summer as they seek to secure Champions League qualification next season.

Although they were favorites to finish fourth for much of the 2021/22 season, they were edged out by north London rivals Tottenham with just a few games of the season remaining.

Bent has three players, in particular, he would like the Gunners to sign

Mikel Arteta will be keen to strengthen his squad now that the transfer window is open, with the aim of competing for that fourth spot again, as well as in the Europa League.

And Bent, who briefly took on the role of Gunners director of football on talkSPORT Drive, believes he has three players who could help his club ahead of next season.

“Gabriel Jesus,” Bent told talkSPORT. “I would love to see him go to Arsenal. I think he would be brilliant.

“He doesn’t necessarily have a point to prove, but I think he needs regular football now and I think he’s more than good enough to score the goals to help Arsenal get back to where they are. would like to go.

“So I think he would be a really good addition to the team.

“I would love to see Yves Bissouma from Brighton. I can’t believe no one bought it.

Bissouma has been slated for a move into the top six for a while now

“I think they’re talking £50-60m. I think he is a top midfielder.

“I love Thomas Partey but he’s had injuries and consistency has been an issue. But he’s durable, Yves Bissouma, so I’d love to see him out the door.

“And Christopher Nkunku from Leipzig. It would be very expensive.

“I think there is talk of his return to Paris Saint-Germain, but I love him.

Statistically, Nkunku was one of the best players in Europe last season

“I think he fits the bill. He can play as a centre-forward, he can play on the left and he can play on the right.

“I know two of those three are forwards, so maybe we should focus on another pair of full-backs.”

The three players listed by Bent, plus two full-backs, could see Arsenal spending hit £150million for the second summer in a row.

And you can’t spend that kind of money without having something to show off at the end of the season.
