Gunman arrested after police evacuated Jeffersontown High School


A man faces several charges in connection with the Jeffersontown High School lockdown on Thursday. Donald Dorsey, 25, was arrested Thursday afternoon for illegal possession of a weapon on school grounds and public intoxication. Officers responded to a report of an intruder inside the school on Thursday. Students and staff were evacuated to the Jeffersontown football field. During a security check in the area, Jeffersontown Police said Dorsey went to the football field with a loaded handgun. Officers say he had a speech impairment and smelled strongly of alcohol. Dorsey admitted to officers that he had been drinking. Officers also arrested a former underage student, who they said was inside the school.
