JD Vance sold his house just outside Washington, DC, for $ 1.87 million after less than three weeks on the market, according to property files.
The buyer is a former deputy director of the first Trump administration who is now working as government entrepreneur – and paid $ 172,000 on the requested price.
Christopher Garcia manages a national limited liability company recorded in Nevada which bought the house of Vance in Alexandria, Virginia, a suburbs of Washington, DC, about eight miles from the national capital.
Garcia was national assistant director of the American trade department from 2017 to 2018, according to her Linkedin profile.
GARCIA – which still has other goods in Washington, DC, says files – is currently listed as president and chief executive officer of Health Supply US, a manufacturer and distributor of medical devices, personal protective equipment and consumables.
According to public spending data, the health of the United States has received nearly $ 179 million in government contracts between 2020 and 2021.
A spokesperson for Garcia confirmed to Forbes that Garcia was behind the purchase and that the sale price was based on the market. The spokesperson also told Forbes that Garcia and the seller had no relationship and no direct communication. Garcia did not respond to a request for comments from Business Insider.
The story of JD Vance’s house in Alexandria
Vance and his wife, USHA, bought the Alexandria house in 2023 for 1.64 million dollars.
The couple won $ 228,025 more than they paid on the sale, but they are not clear if they have spent money for renovations or upgrades that would reduce their profit.
The firm style house of five bedrooms and three and a half rooms struck the market on February 27 listed at 1.69 million dollars, according to its Redfin list. The sale officially closed on March 17, barely 18 days later.
Remax Allegiance Justin Tanner real estate agent, who represented the buyer, told Business Insider that he had learned that there was nine offers at home.

Robert Crawford and Tyler Jeffrey de Ttr Sotheby’s International Realty have listed the property. Crawford and Jeffrey did not respond to a request for comments.
Vance will spend most of his time in the official home of the vice-president, who is on the ground of the naval observatory.
The property files show, however, that Vance still has a house in Washington, DC. In 2014, Vance and his wife bought a DC townhouse for $ 590,000 in the Capitol Hill district, from a distance from the National Mall.
According to Redfin, the house was registered for the rental in October 2023 for $ 3,700 per month.
In 2024, the tenant of Vances at the time told Washington Post that she planned to stay there for a while and that his owners were reactive.
“I love this house. I love this block. I want to be here for a long time,” she said. “So I want to be a good tenant. And I have big owners – USHA is great.”
