Group protesting transgender in women’s sports forced out of event
Citizens protesting transgender athletes in women’s sports were reportedly kicked out of an event at a state high school on Saturday in California.
Several transgender runners were supposed to be part of the event but did not participate, the Daily mail reported Sunday.
According to footage from the Women Are Real social media page, the group was removed by an official from the California Interscholastic Federation Athletics Championships.
“The CIF governs interscholastic athletics, promoting equity, quality, character, and academic development,” reads the organization’s mission statement.

At the event, the group held banners with phrases such as “Protect Female Sports” and “Speak Up 4 Girls.”
In a ticket, the account said, “CIF is afraid of women holding banners. They told us that they would stop the whole game because we had a banner that said: “Protect women’s sports”. The CIF allows boys to choose to compete against girls.
Video footage shows a man telling those holding the banners and cheering that the officials will stop the game.
“Outside the stadium. We stop the whole meeting,” he said. The group then proceed to get up from their seats. The man also tells the person recording to “put it away”.

The group’s subscribers were quick to share their thoughts on what happened, a person in writing“They should have stopped the meeting at that time. The boys should not compete with the girls!!!”
Others rented their actions.
“Well done. I have tickets for the 2023 Track Cycling World Championships in Glasgow. You may need to take a leaf out of your book if the UCI does not fix its trans policy,” the user wrote .
“So proud of you all. Well done,” another commented.

In the days leading up to the incident, demonstrators protested in favor of a girl who lost her chance to compete in the state championships to a transgender athlete, according to the To post:
Notably, Santa Rosa Sonoma Academy’s Athena Ryan — the runner who finished second and cost a cisgender girl her spot in the final — was absent from the race, along with another trans girl and two cisgender girls, according to the Independent. Women’s Sports Council.
The CIF condemned those protesting for what they called “harassing behavior” which they said led to Ryan and another transgender athlete – Lorelei Barrett of Sherman Oaks Buckley – not showing up.

The group also said that girls experience harm in the form of exclusion and loss, adding that boys are also victims because “cognitive dissonance and injustice done are emotional burdens”.
