Grocery stores are starting to limit egg purchases
  • Egg prices are at record heights as American supply problems get worse.

  • More than half of buyers in a recent survey said they had seen shortages or opinions outside the eggs for eggs.

It may not be the week to try to make a soufflé.

Some grocery retailers are now limiting purchases of buyers’ eggs, because the challenges of the American offer push egg prices to record summits.

Business Insider has seen panels in stores, including a costco in New Jersey and a Joe’s trader in New York, informing buyers of limits about the number of eggs that buyers could buy, the two citing supply problems .

“Due to current supply problems, we ask you to limit your purchase to a dozen eggs. Thank you for your understanding!” The sign in front of the site of Trader Joe.

Costco Location limited buyers with 3 egg boxes.

More examples have been published by American buyers on social networks.

A Walmart spokesperson told Bi that the retail giant had not instituted a national limit for eggs, with the exception of the 60 accounts package, which is now limited to two per transaction. Walmart sells one in five eggs sold in the United States, according to market research firm Numerator.

More than half of the buyers interviewed by Numerator said they had seen shortages or stocks for eggs in the United States stores.

The shortages were the most pronounced in the cities and in the west of the United States, with BJ’s, Costco, Target, Trader Joe’s and Publix among the most affected brands, according to Numerator.

More than 70% of buyers told numbers that egg prices were “somewhat or very expensive” in their region.

The new policies occur after many cases of buyers buy egg cartons, apparently in response to the flu epidemic of the undergoing birds which has contributed to a lower food of eggs.

Several videos have become viral showing that Costco buyers were cleaning an egg palette in a few minutes, and Bi last week observed a target buyer Buy a cart full of about 30 dozen eggs and nothing else.
