So again we see the left going after the floor.
Left-wing NGOs are now going after Elon Musk for buying Twitter. It’s him on the left. If you are normal and have no idea what an NGO is, it means “no good organization”. Pretty smart. These are non-profit groups that claim to be independent of any government but aim to advance radical agendas like no cash bail and now censorship.
Imagine a group even more obnoxious and less responsible than government employees. And this week NGOs sent out a letter urging a boycott of Twitter if Musk takes over the company.
Its backers include former Clinton operatives, billionaire George Soros, as well as, get this, the European Union. Yes, the European Union has signed a letter. Ukrainians must be delighted if they hear that the EU has defined its priorities. “Of course we are constantly attacked by the Russians, but someone was mean to Chrissy Teigen.” How is she ?
Do you know who else signed this letter? The Canadian government. Yeah. Boo. Boo them. Are governments doing this? Sign letters asking advertisers to boycott an American company? I’m sorry, Canada. We never expect America to sign a letter boycotting beavers.
GREG GUTFELD: “HEALTH” IS A TRICK TO VOID YOUR RIGHTS
But let’s not forget that it was the Prime Minister of Canada who called Canadian truckers “Nazis”, which is about as hateful as it gets, although perhaps not as hateful as donning blackface.
If Justin Trudeau is worried about speaking, he should look in the mirror. But the last thing he wants to do is argue with a person of color. I get why he hates Twitter, any kind of talk about him will usually be critical because he sucks. He’s the worst thing to come out of Canada since the voice of Neil Young. Even Moose thinks, “hmm, do we know a realtor in Tampa?”
Musk responded to the letter with a tweet asking “Who is funding these organizations that want to control your access to information? Let’s investigate.” He added that sunlight is the best disinfectant, which I disagree with. Try to get rid of gangrene with a solar lamp.
The letter was signed by more than 26 organizations and claims that the Musk buyout, or what they call a takeover, will further, quote, “toxify our information ecosystem.” And worse, it would be a “direct threat to public safety, especially among those already most vulnerable and marginalized.”
Wait, are we talking about free speech on Twitter or defunding the police? They don’t think twice about the vulnerable when they dump cash bail, but allowing free speech on Twitter will leave a trail of corpses from here to Silicon Valley.
Threats, public safety. You think you were walking around Chicago after 4 p.m., but it’s the same fear that plagues anyone they want to eliminate from the discourse. And as usual, it’s in the name of the marginalized.
But has a wealthy, white leftist ever asked a marginalized group what they really want? Of course not. They wouldn’t dare enter a marginalized neighborhood. They might get stabbed by a guy who’s back on the street thanks to their own policies.
The fact is that polls show how marginalized groups want pretty much what everyone else wants. A good job, a home, freedom from crime, freedom of speech and of course, a signed photo of Greg Gutfeld. That’s what everyone wants, everyone except the very idiots who claim to speak on behalf of marginalized groups.
And that helps explain the debate’s detour toward censorship. And while boycotts have been around forever, it’s no longer about a product, but about silencing any opposition using the social media crowd.
It’s a level of extortion that would make Tony Soprano drop his Gabagool.
This group also claims that an advertiser “risks associating with a platform amplifying hate, extremism, health, misinformation and conspiracy theories.” Wait, maybe that letter was meant for CNN.
They also claimed that under Musk’s leadership, Twitter was in danger of becoming a “sink of disinformation”. That’s like saying going for a pee might make a Times Square portapot stink. I know for a fact.
Twitter risks becoming a cesspool of misinformation? What is it already? When someone mentions Twitter, you don’t exactly imagine guys in powdered wigs sitting in a venerable room debating the importance of the Protestant work ethic in a capitalist society while having afternoon tea . To say that Musk could make Twitter a cesspool of untruths is like complaining about diarrhea before going to Chipotle. Just thinking about it.
So who is behind all this? It appears to be three organizations that are all left wing.
Jesse Lehrich, co-founder of Accountable Tech, was a former spokesperson for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. So he is definitely experiencing a toxic ecosystem.
Media Matters is a bitter den of couch-locked lefties who spend almost all of their time watching Fox and tweeting about it. No wonder Musk scares him so much. He could make those lone losers work harder or have a heart attack. But the left-wing media have always aimed to monopolize the word. They don’t even try to hide it anymore.
INTRO KIT: Tonight on the Chess News Network.
STAFF 1: David Brooks here with the Chess News Network, home of the Fair and Focus debate. We are not influenced by public opinion and we have the audiences to prove it. We have two people here on opposite sides of an issue. Miss, what do you think of Elon Musk and Twitter?
STAFF 2: Billionaires and their business interests have no right to affect political discourse in this country. I read that in the Washington Post.
STAFF 1: Well said. And you, sir, support Elon. What’s it like to hate minorities?
STAFF 3: Well, wait a minute. No, I would never say. What I mean. You won’t even let me finish!
STAFF 1: Miss, any thoughts?
STAFF 2: We flirt with fascism in this country. And Lady Liberty didn’t consent.
STAFF 3: Well, well, I need… I can’t even…
STAFF 1: That, folks, is the kind of fair and focused debate you’ll only see here on the Chess News Network. Back to you.
The scariest thing I’ve ever seen, but it’s quite attractive. Of course, now the left is no different from the students on campus who mute the loudspeakers or shout over the loudspeakers. They will not tolerate competition.
The problem here, Musk doesn’t care. It doesn’t need advertisers to make Twitter work. He’s got everything he needs to make it a success, a belief in free speech, a few extra billions he’s found under the couch cushions, and balls the size of Caitlyn Jenner.
