Look who is back. Months after Levi Schmitt (Jake Borelli) left Gray Sloan for a PEDS research position in Texas, he returned to Seattle. His appearance was tightened Thursday evening in a promo for episode 2117 of next week Grey’s Anatomy“Love you Like A love song.” He marked the first time of Borelli on the medical drama ABC since his farewell episode 2107 “If you leave”, broadcast in November.
As expected, it was the BFF Jo of Levi (Camilla Luddington) who brought him back while the promo reveals that Levi will officiate the upcoming marriage of Jo and Link (Chris Carmack). We will not spoil episode 2116 of tonight, “Papa Was a Rollin ‘Stone” beyond the note that it ended with Jo and as having to plan a wedding in four days.
In Borelli’s exit interview with Deadline in November, he said he was “very hoping that Levi will come back”, before referenced Levi’s close friendship with Jo and his twin pregnancy.
“I think the public is interested in seeing what Levi does, I am certainly,” he said Borelli. “He has so many links with people still in the hospital, Jo, so I couldn’t imagine the birth of these babies without levi the world to get there.”
Instead of the birth of the twins, Levi returned for the wedding of Jo, although there are already theories of the fans according to which the two events could occur in close inheritance – if not simultaneously.
“I think that we also have this wonderful opportunity to make it grow, then bring it back at a given moment and to be really this boss that we know that he can be,” said Borelli about a possible return from Levi in November.
Borelli, who had been on Grey’s Anatomy For seven seasons, is the last former Grey’s Anatomy Regular series to make a visit this season, joining Jesse Williams and Greg Germann.
