Grandma and 3 others arrested in murder of missing Kansas moms

Four arrests have been made in the disappearance of two Kansas mothers, with the grandmother of one of the women’s children charged in their murders, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation announced Saturday.

Tifany Machel Adams, 54, the grandmother of missing woman Veronica Butler’s children, was arrested and charged Saturday with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping and one count of conspiracy to commit murder. to commit first degree murder. Her boyfriend, Tad Bert Cullum, and two of his friends, Cora and Cole Earl Twombly, were also arrested on the same charges.

Butler, 27, disappeared last month while trying to pick up her children with acquaintance Jilian Kelley, 39. At the time of his and Kelley’s disappearance, they were on their way to Eva, Oklahoma, where her children may have been staying.

Butler was involved in a nasty custody battle with the father of her children that escalated shortly before both mothers disappeared. Ten days before her disappearance, Butler had requested more visitation rights and was seeking full custody of her children.

Butler and Kelley have still not been found, although authorities located their abandoned vehicle weeks ago and “determined there was evidence indicating foul play,” the OSBI said in its statement . Sources told NewsNation there were “pools of blood” on the ground near where the abandoned car was found, as well as bloodstains inside the car, although law enforcement has not confirmed this.
