Governor Greg Abbott activates emergency resources in the midst of bad weather

Significant serious storms should move to northern Texas on Sunday during the night. Governor Greg Abbott has activated emergency resources in response to incoming storms.

Texas, United States – Governor Greg Abbott activated emergency resources on Sunday in the midst of threats of violent time, officials said.

The Governor ordered the Directorate of the Emergency Department of Texas to activate additional state emergency intervention resources as severe meteorological press threats in certain parts of the State in the coming days, according to a press release from Abbott.

Important bad weather, including the harmful winds and hail, move in northern Texas around 9 p.m. Sunday, which prompted a WFAA weather alert day. The storm could wear up to 70 winds and to the hail the size of a golf ball. The threat of tornado is weak but not zero.

“Texas is ready to deploy all the resources necessary to support the Texans while serious weather conditions move through our state which have the potential to provide sudden floods and heavy rain,” Abbott said in a press release. “The Texans are invited to remain aware of the weather conditions, to regularly check the conditions of the road and to take into account the advice of the State and local officials to ensure the safety of themselves and their relatives.

Serious weather conditions are planned in northern Texas and certain parts of the Panhandle, West and Eastern Texas from Sunday and last throughout the week, the press release said.

In the direction of Governor Abbott, the following resources will be available to support the Local severe weather response:

  • Texas A & M Engineering Extension Service (Texas A & M Task Force 1 and Texas Task Force 2): SWIFTWATER LICHAGE BOARD SHOWS, Urban research and type 3 rescue teams
  • Texas emergency management division: The Texas State incident management team to support emergency intervention resources deployed through the State
  • Texas National Guard: High -level staff and vehicles to help blocked motorists
  • Texas Department of Transportation: Staff surveillance Road Conditions
  • Texas A & M Forest Service: Saw crews to help the road compensation, the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (Tifmas) strike teams to support local emergency services
  • Texas Parks and Wildlife Department: Gaming goalkeepers, lifeboats teams and helicopters with lifting capacity to help flood rescues
  • Texas Department of Public Security: Helicopters with lifting capacities, Texas Highway Patrol Troopers and the Tactical Marine Unit
  • Texas Department of State Health Services (Texas Emergency Medical Task Force): Severe meteorological support packages made up of doctors, ambulances and all-terrain vehicles
  • Texas A & M Agrilife Extension Service: Disaster and recovery assessment agents, as well as county popularization agents, to meet agricultural and livestock needs
  • Texas Public Services Commission: Surveillance and coordination of power panels with public service providers
  • Railroad Texas Commission: Surveillance of the supply and communication of the state in natural gas with the petroleum and gas industry
  • Texas Commission on the quality of the environment: Air / water monitoring / wastewater
