Governor Greg Abbott has activated additional state emergency intervention resources while the State provides incoming bad weather, which could include floods and thunderstorms.
The Governor ordered the Texas (TDEM) emergency management division to activate additional state emergency intervention resources before increased threats.
The Texas National Guard, Texas A & M Forest Service, Texas A & M Engineering Extension Service and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department are among the 12 agencies that will be available in the direction of Governor Abbott.
“Texas is ready to deploy all the resources necessary to support the Texans while serious weather conditions move through our state which have the potential to bring sudden floods and heavy rain,” Governor Abbott said in a statement.
According to the National Weather Service, bad weather is planned through large parts of the Panhandle, North, West and Eastern Texas from the end of Sunday and week.
Experts anticipate strong winds, hail and perhaps even tornadoes. Wind gusts greater than 80 to 100 miles per hour are possible later during the day.
The rain and the threat of the floods intensified in the middle of the week in the north, the center, the east and the southern Texas. Texans are invited to monitor information on local forecasts from trust weather sources.
“The Texans are invited to remain aware of the weather conditions, to regularly check the conditions of the road and to take into account the advice of the State and local officials to ensure the safety of themselves and their relatives. Regularly monitor the roads before traveling and checking Texasflood.org For flood information. Remember: go back, don’t drown, “said Governor Abbott.
