Google Pixel 10 could bring back eq ambient

The Google Pixel 4 was a revolutionary telephone in many ways. Inexplicably, Google introduced so many features with this phone – and never brought them back after that. Probably to unlock the surest face that you could get (two entire IR cameras!) To a money radar, the Pixel 4 was all around revolutionary.

Another feature that was only present on the Pixel 4 was the ambient EQ, a characteristic that dynamically adjusted the white balance of the screen according to the lighting conditions of your environment. The functionality is really similar to the real Apple tone. Unfortunately, he disappeared on the Pixel 5 and only returned to the Pixel tablet.

Thanks to a source inside Google, Android authority learned that Google probably brings the functionality to its phones with the next Pixel 10 series.

While the Pixel 4 was Google’s first phone to display the equalizer, this is actually not the first device to have it. The Nest Hub was the first to introduce the functionality in 2018, an entire year before the Pixel 4. After that and the brief appearance on the Pixel 4, the functionality only returned to the Pixel tablet, probably to improve its smart display.

The Pixel 10 series is defined to reduce the functionality to Google phones, although under another name. The function will probably be called “your adaptive”, just like on the Pixel tablet. Google describes it as “dynamically adapting the display to warmer or cooler tones depending on the ambient lighting”, which seems identical to the version on the Pixel 4.

The functionality is activated by a light and ambient color sensor improved combo, the “AMS TMD3743”. The new sensor will probably be present on all the devices (non -foldable) Pixel 10.

It will be interesting to see how much the functionality works on the Pixel 10. The old version has been criticized so as not to adjust the white balance almost enough, and the variation of the pixel tablet was not perfect either. Hopefully Google has learned, and the new version will work better. We will discover when the Pixel 10 series will finally be launched in August.
