At Google I / O 2025, the technology giant has unveiled new capacities to come in Notebooklm, its AI notes and research assistant. In particular, the company is launching video previews.
Google says that users will soon be able to transform dense multimedia, such as raw notes, PDFs and images, into digestible visual presentations.
Since its launch, NoteBooklm aims to help users understand and interact with complex documents. With this new capacity, Notebooklm will adopt a more visual approach to help users understand different subjects and ideas.
Notebooklm has already adopted an audio approach to help users understand materials with audio previews, a functionality that gives users the possibility of generating a podcast with AI virtual hosts based on documents that they have shared with notebooklm, such as course readings or legal memories.

Now Google deploys more flexibility in audio previews, as it allows users to select the ideal length for their audio summaries. For example, you can choose to have an audio preview with the default length, or more or more short.
The new features announced today come one day after Google has officially published Notebooklm applications for Android and iOS. So far, Notebooklm has only been accessible via the office. Google has now rendered the available service on the go.
Applications have background playback and offline support for audio previews, as well as support for dark mode. Applications also allow people to create new laptops and consult those they have already created. In addition, when you consult a website, a PDF or a YouTube video on your device, you can press the sharing icon and select Notebooklm to add it as a new source. Users can also display the sources they have already downloaded in each of the laptops.
