Google Meet will stay on screen when you switch tabs

Google is making it easier to keep track of Google Meet calls, which can easily get lost in your tabs, when you’re using Chrome on your computer. According to a blog post , the company is rolling out a feature that automatically opens a Google Meet call in picture-in-picture mode when you switch tabs in Chrome.

As Google shows in a GIF, when you click outside of the Google Meet call, a new Meet window appears elsewhere on the screen so you can keep an eye on the person speaking. This can be handy when you’re looking at a document someone shared and definitely not checking your Threads feed.

The automatic picture-in-picture feature isn’t just for paid accounts. Google says it’s available to “all Google Workspace customers, individual Workspace subscribers, and users with personal Google accounts.”
