Google Keep now uses AI to help you create a list

After testing for the past few months, Google Keep is now widely rolling out support for a new “Help me create a list” AI feature on Android.

Powered by Gemini and previously available as part of Workspace Labs, Google Keep is now rolling out “Help me make a list” to all users.

Google began testing the “Help me create a list” feature in Keep in February, and it’s since been listed on a support page as a Workspace Labs feature.

This feature, which was mentioned during the launch of the Pixel 9 series, takes a simple prompt and can help populate a list of items or tasks using generative AI. For example, “write a list of ingredients for healthy dinners” generates options in different categories like “lean proteins,” vegetables, whole grains, and more. Once the list is generated, you can either recreate it or insert it into a blank note and edit each item from there. The formatting of the list is automatically applied.

Keep does not indicate whether or not a list was created using AI.

We’ve confirmed that the feature is rolling out to all Android devices, regardless of whether you’re signed up for Workspace Labs. In our testing, the feature appeared immediately on Google Keep v5.24.322.01.90 across multiple Google accounts on the Pixel 8 Pro, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Pixel 7, and Motorola Razr (2024). The secondary Google account we spotted the feature on also doesn’t have a Google One subscription, so this is a feature that’s being made available all users, regardless of device or subscriptions.

A slightly newer version of Keep, version 2.24.332.02.90, also adds a settings toggle to disable this AI feature entirely. This newer version isn’t required to use the feature, however, which is a good thing since it’s still not widely available on the Play Store.
