Google brings Project Starline’s ‘magic window’ experience to real-world video calls

Google’s futuristic video conferencing technology will soon become a reality. In an update released Monday, Google said it was working on integrating Project Starline with popular video conferencing setups like Google Meet and Zoom.

But Google then integrated the technology into what looks like a large TV with a camera system mounted on top, rather than an entire cubicle, making it more practical for offices and conference rooms.

Now, Google says it will finally take the Starline project “out of the lab” and bring it to the workplace. It partners with HP to market the product. “We are proud to partner with Google to commercialize this technology, harnessing the power of AI to shape the future of collaboration,” Alex Cho, president of personal systems at HP, said in a statement.
