Watching television is something that most animals enjoy, although it is difficult for us to understand exactly what they are seeing when they do it. Watch a show where someone rings the doorbell and they lose their mind; a dog barking at the screen will send them into a frenzy. But what else do they see?
Apparently they see more than we think. Recently, while watching a nature show with his parents, a Golden Retriever seemed extremely aware of the baby animals on screen and was totally willing to take care of them:
Blueberry the Golden Retriever is so sweet. I just know that much of his emotional intelligence is passed on to his corresponding sister, Bella; I bet she feels very emotionally supported by him!

Blueberry is the older brother here, and he apparently loves not only nature shows, but particularly David Attenborough voiceovers. This proves that love for David Attenborough transcends species. It’s a treasure for everyone!
Blue particularly likes nature shows that involve baby animals. They make funny noises, they’re cute, and it’s completely natural to want to take care of them. If one of them had jumped through the screen, Blue would have immediately intervened – he’s an excellent goalkeeper. At home, he has his sister Bella and six humans, for whom he considers himself responsible. Living things are in good hands (or, really, paws) with Blueberry!
Blue is just one example of the best characteristics of this amazing breed: they are very supportive. No matter what they think of Golden Retrievers, everyone will admit that there is definitely a reason why the breed is such a must-have.
Golden Retrievers are known, praised and often employed for their emotional intelligence; experts say they match the intelligence of a 2-3 year old human child. This is also when we are most emotionally intelligent: a toddler knows when you might need help, and they offer it every time.
Golden Retrievers are the same way: they are good at detecting vibrations, good or bad, and they match that energy. If you’re having a bad day and you have a Golden, you can expect to find him ready and waiting to snuggle. Their emotional intelligence and generally gentle mannerisms, as well as their highly trainable nature, make them perfect candidates for emotional support animals, medical service dogs, or even therapy dogs as part of a larger program.
Blue is just as emotionally intelligent as the rest, and it shows: he’s willing to emotionally support baby animals through the TV screen! It’s incredible!
