Golden Globes 2025: Demi Moore delivers poignant speech as Sebastian Stan says Donald Trump role was ‘the hardest’ — live updates

The 2025 awards season arrived with the Golden Globes ceremony, and Zoe Saldana took home the top prize of the night, breaking down in tears while accepting the award.

“My heart is full of gratitude,” Zoe said in a moving speech. “It’s the first time for me and I’m so lucky.”

Zoé won for her work in Émilie Pérez, and the film also won for Best Non-English Language Film, with director Jacques Audiard accepting on behalf of the film, and for Best Original Song, with Zoé returning to the stage to present it to winners Camille and Clément Ducol.

This awards season continues to be an open book, with no real favorites, and so the Globes provided some insight into where the other awards, including the Oscars, might land.

“Thirty years ago a producer told me I was a popcorn actress and at that time I understood that to mean it wasn’t something I was allowed to do. “I had, that I could make successful films, that I made a lot of money, but I couldn’t recognize it,” said the 62-year-old.

Kieran Culkin wins Best Supporting Actor at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards

In the TV categories, Shogun was a big winner winning three acting awards for Hiroyuki Sanada, Anna Sawai and Tadanobu Asano. It also won the award for Best Television Series (Drama).

Jessica Gunning also won her first Golden Globe for Netflix. Baby reindeer; she joked that the audience almost “saw my Golden Globes” when she almost tripped.

The Netflix show won the award for best limited television series, anthology series or movie made for television, and Richard Gadd accepted the award.

“We need stories that speak to the complicated and difficult nature of our times,” he said.

Jeremy Allen White won for The bear bbut he was not present to accept, while Colin Farrell won for The Penguin and Jodie Foster for True Detective: Land of the Night.

Jodie went to make a rare comment about her sons, thanking “Kit my scientist son and Charlie my actor son” as she accepted her award.
