The United States landed in group D alongside Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago and Saudi Arabia during the draw of the CONCACAF Golden Cup on Thursday, while the Mexico champions were placed in group A with Costa Rica, Suriname and the Dominican Republic.
After the group phase of the 16 team tournament which starts on June 14 at Sofi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the best teams of each group will go to the direct elimination of the quarter -finals to be held on June 28 and 29.
The semi-finals will take place on July 2 and the final will be played on July 6 at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.
Elsewhere in Thursday’s draw, Canada was fired with Honduras, El Salvador and Curacao in group B, while the finalists in 2023 Panama, who beat the USMNT in the Semi-Us
Saudi Arabia, the guest team of the 2025 tournament, will also return for the 2027 edition.
Earlier in September, the Concacaf announced the 14 stadiums that host matches, which includes the first time from the Gold Cup sites: US Bank Stadium (Minneapolis, MN), Paypal Park (San Jose, CA) and BC Place (Vancouver, Canada).
Due to the Club World Cup which also takes place this summer, some national team players can be unavailable for the next Concacaf tournament, which will mark the last set of competitive matches for the United States, Mexico and Canada before the co-hosting of the 2026 World Cup.
Mexico is currently carrying out the count of all time of the Gold Cup trophies with new, while the United States is second with seven. Canada, the only other nation to have hoisted the title, won the tournament in 2000.
Recently, in the League of Concacaf nations which ended in March, Mexico finished as winners after having beat Panama 2-1 in the final. In the third place match, Canada won a 2-1 victory in the United States
