The Gold Coast Suns were again targeted by pirates, the club’s Facebook page being hit for the second time in two days.

The football club published a statement Tuesday morning via X, explaining that civil servants had been locked up from Facebook and Instagram pages of the Suns.

“The club is aware of the current problems with its meta-account and works to rectify the situation,” said the club’s statement.

“Please note that any message for the moment is not allowed and we apologize for any drawback, damage or offense caused.

“The club will keep fans up to date.

Unusual messages began to appear on the pages on Monday evening and Tuesday morning which made your head scratch.

The club, which is preparing for its pre-season opening match, obtained positive news on Tuesday with Matt Rowell who is verbally committed to staying on the strip of glitter until the end of the 2026 season.

The football star would have been targeted by several rival clubs, so the news will be a great relief for Suns supporters.

Last week, Rowell was pressed by journalists if he remained at the club and that he seemed less enthusiastic.

“Yeah, I’m thinking (I’m going to stay),” he said.

“It will happen when we get there, but I’m just focused on the coming season and winning our first game.”
