The Shale Revolution gave the United States energy independence. Europe wants the same from green energy, especially as natural gas prices are skyrocketing.
Europe is in the midst of an energy crisis, with concerns over gas shortages if the winter is cold. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday rejected claims that Moscow is militarizing energy, attributing the current shortage in part to the diversion of US liquefied natural gas to Asia, where prices are higher. Speaking at a conference in Moscow, he said Russia has increased its gas supplies to Europe this year and may provide more, adding that early approval of the controversial Nord Stream 2 pipeline could help rebalance the market.
