- Glenfiddich has published a 16 -year -old Scotch Scotch Whiskey, the first expression of his collaboration with the Aston Martin Formula One team.
- Whiskey is entirely aged in American oak, highlighting flavors of fresh fruit, whipped cream, vanilla and caramel with a silky and balanced finish.
- Inspired by Formula 1 engineering crafts, this limited time version marks the start of a long -term partnership between Glenfiddich and Aston Martin.
At first glance, it seems that there are few disciplines more distant than the manufacture of whiskey and motor racing. The race concerns speed and power, metal and fiberglass, time measurement to tenths or hundredths of a second. Creating a large whiskey, on the other hand, requires immense patience – enough to guide an aging oak barrel over the years and decades, waiting patiently until it reaches its peak of maturity.
But Brian Kinsman, the Master Master of Glenfiddich, considers the two disparate trades as “united by a deep respect for crafts, whether it is the meticulous aging of a unique malt whiskey or the precision engineering of a high performance car.
Kinsman provides connection to the conclusion in the 16 -year -old Glenfiddich Single Scotch Whiskey, the first project of the Speyside distillery collaboration with the Aston Martin Formula One team. The long -term exclusive partnership began in November 2024 at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, and it is the first whiskey produced from their union.
Kinsman is passionate about formula a self -proclaimed: “I looked at F1 a lot in the 80s and 90s with the legendary names of Senna, Mansell, Prost and Schumacher. I have moved away a little for a few years, but I came back in the new generation of Hamilton and Verstappen. Now have the chance to be at a race, I love it! ”.
Kinsman says that a visit to the headquarters of Aston Martin Formula One “was revealing for me. Although technology and engineering are at the forefront, crafts, precision and skills of working people, it was very reminiscent of our distillery. ”
16 -year -old whiskey inspired by the visit rewards patience on the part of the drinker, not speed. But like an refined F1 runner, it is a complex and complex affair. Old in a mixture of new American oaks, barrels of an ex-filling of filling and barrels of American oak wine, it is a rare expression of Glenfiddich entirely matured in the American oak.
“We wanted to highlight the influence of the American oak and how it really brings out the central character of Glenfiddich. In most of our expressions, we embellish the American and European oak together. This is a fine example where a singular type of oak shines alone, ”explains Kinsman.

Glenfiddich 16 years old is described as having a rich and sweet nose; A silky and syrupy feeling with notes of fresh fruit salad and whipped cream; and a smooth and soft finish. “Glenfiddich matured in American oak has a wide range of possibilities as the flavor grows with age,” says Kinsman. “The middle of adolescence sees a very beautiful balance of character of strong distillery – juicy and ripe fruits – and an influence of the barrel (with) vanilla, gentle caramel. Our Solera, 15, is an excellent example of this balance. For this expression, 16 years old felt good. ”
Glenfiddich promises that the 16 -year -old is only the start of a long collaboration with the emblematic British automaker. But this particular expression will only be available for a limited period.
