Glen Powell says he threw up after watching rough cut of ‘Hidden Figures’

The actor appeared on “Therapist with Jake Shane” podcast this week and got real about his role in the hit 2016 biopic…saying he completely blanched after watching an early screening.

GP – who played the role of a real astronaut John Glenn in the movie – says he watched the movie before any effects or music were added, a very simple version…and he honestly thought he ruined the movie.

Powell says he left the room feeling like he’d done a disservice to the memory of the real women who helped get America to the Moon in the ’60s – while exploiting the hard work of all his colleagues…and he got so upset that he threw up in the bushes at Fox Field.

Glen says the extra aspects that were missing in the first cut ended up making the movie much better in the end…so he probably freaked out a little too early.

It seems that’s exactly what he and his partners ultimately did… “Hidden Figures” is a critical and commercial success – racking up a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes while grossing over $230 million at the box office. The film also won three Academy Awards, including Best Supporting Actress for Octavia Spencer.
