Gianluigi Donnarumma took a blow to Kylian Mbappe on his decision to leave PSG last summer – after the team progressed to the Champions League final.

The French champions assured their place in Munich at the end of the month after beating Arsenal 2-1 Wednesday evening – 3-1 on the total – in a convincing victory.

This is the second time that PSG has reached a final of the Champions League in the history of the club – having fallen to a 1-0 defeat against Bayern Munich in 2020.

Their success also comes only one season after the star of France Mbappe chose to leave the Giants of Ligue 1 in order to guarantee a free transfer to Real Madrid.

However, the European Los Blancos campaign ended with disappointment after losing 5-1 on aggregate against Arsenal during the quarter-finals.

Now, the PSG Donnarumma star has weighed on the team’s transformation since the release of Mbappe and insisted that the team “ played for each other ”.

Addressing Prime Video after the match, Donnarumma said: “The mind has changed, we are much more a team. We play for each other.

“The team is very united, we are doing well together. We (Italy) won a European championship like this, that makes all the difference in each team.

“We miss Kylian, he is one of the best in the world and I wish him all the best because he is a great friend.”

Although Lionel Messi and Neymar have moved away from French giants in recent years, it was the departure of Mbappe that has the most injured fans.

However, since its release, PSG has rebuilt its team with some of the most exciting talents in Europe – like Désure Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bradley Barcola.

Mbappe endured a difficult start of life in Spain, since then, continued to display his prolific talents and scored 36 goals at 52 games in all competitions.

Despite his best efforts, Madrid could go trophy in the first season of Mbappe – having lost in the final of the Copa del Rey, was eliminated in the Champions League and currently the leaders of the Barcelona Sentiers League.

Donnarumma, on the other hand, swept the applause after the PSG victory over Arsenal after producing a handful of amazing backups to keep the French side in control.

Even Arsenal’s boss, Mikel Arteta, said that goalkeeper Donnarumma was the best PSG player and the difference in difference at night.

First, the 26 -year -old produced an impressive stop by Gabriel Martinelli before keeping a long -term effort from Martin Odegaard with pressure guests.

The Italian then made an astonishing stop for a tip on the strike of Bukayo Saka which was intended for the upper corner.

Donnarumma also presented a magnificent display during the first stage, which saw the Parisian team leave the Emirates with a white sheet.

Speaking after the match, he told TNT Sports: “The evaluation that I will do when I will be a little cooler, but the comments that I removed from their bench is that we were much better than them.

“When you watch the two games, their best player on the field was the goalkeeper, he made the difference for them in the tie.”
