The first round of the 2023 NHL playoffs did not go as planned for the heavily favored Boston Bruins.
After leading 3-1 in the series, the underdog Florida Panthers came back strong to win in seven games.
This year, Jeremy Swayman and the Boston Bruins hope to reverse their unfortunate fate from last season when they take on the Panthers in a rematch of last year’s hard-fought matchup.
So far, they’ve done pretty well; in the first game, Boston defeated Florida 5-1.
However, as fans may recall, Jim Montgomery’s team started off strong in 2023 as well.

About the Bruins-Panthers
During the regular season, the Bruins were rewarded against the Panthers and swept them in all four games.
And even though they won the first game of the series, coach Jim Montgomery thinks they could do even better.
“I thought our effort was good,” he said. “I thought we were physical. I don’t think our execution was close to what it should be.
