Gervonta Davis appears to confirm date and venue for next fight vs Frank Martin

Gervonta Davis has indicated that his next fight against Frank Martin will take place on June 22 in Houston, Texas.

The American lightweight star is known to be set to return after more than a year out of the ring, although no official announcement has been made yet.

Davis won a breakout fight last April when he knocked out Ryan Garcia in their Las Vegas blockbuster.

However, he then spent 44 days in prison after violating the terms of a sentence that was originally set for him to avoid being sent to prison.

In early May, Davis was sentenced for his hit-and-run car crash in November 2020, which injured four people.

Because he accepted a plea deal and pleaded guilty to four traffic violations, he avoided prison time.

Gervonta Davis punches his training partner halfway out of the ring and comes out to mock him himself.

Tank was instead sentenced to 90 days of home detention, but was sent to prison just a month later.

He was tried for violating the conditions of his house arrest and as a result was sentenced to serve the remainder of his 90-day prison sentence.

It was revealed he had violated conditions by trying to carry out the house arrest order at the Four Seasons hotel and a $3.4 million penthouse, rather than the one-bedroom house of coach Calvin Ford, as the judge had accepted.

After his release, Davis took to social media several times to express his anger and frustration at the restrictions placed on him that at times prevented him from returning to training.

Martin will take a big step forward, but some will say he might be Tank's toughest opponent yet.

However, in February the American took to social media to show that his ankle monitor had been removed.

Therefore, he is now free to move on to his next fight and has reached a deal to face Martin, which he has already confirmed on social media.

It was initially reported that this fight was scheduled for June 15, but Tank took to social media again on Wednesday to suggest a slight change of plans.

When a fan pointed out that the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas (the rumored fight location) was already booked by Megan Thee Stallion for June 15, Davis responded, “I let Meg do her thing… a week after.”

So it looks like June 22 will be the date for Davis vs Martin.

Tank is the WBA world champion and will put his belt on the line in the fight.

It is understood that this will share a PPV show with David Benavidez against Oleksandr Gvozdyk for the WBC “interim” light heavyweight belt.
