Germany sees the efforts of Truce of Ukraine as a dead end, while China affirms that the talks are encouraging

Kyiv, Ukraine (AP) – The chief diplomat of Germany described on Tuesday the efforts of the American president Donald Trump to ensure a truce in the three -year war between Russia and Ukraine as a dead end, while the Chinese Foreign Minister said that he was encouraging that talks between Washington and Moscow to find a colony.

German Minister for Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock, arriving in kyiv for an unexpected visit, said that “because of the dead end” between the United States and Russia on the forging of a cease-fire contract, the continuous support of European allies in Ukraine in the war is “absolutely crucial”.

Trump repressed Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressing his frustration in the face of continuous fights in a war he had promised to stop quickly.

Trump insisted that progress was made in the negotiations, but said that he was planning to impose other sanctions to put pressure on Moscow and accused Zelenskyy of trying to get out of the agreement with the United States on access to Ukraine mineral resources.

The Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, said on Tuesday that the latest version of the mineral agreement remained under discussion and that Ukraine had led his first series of consultations on this version.

Putin has indeed refused an American proposal for an immediate and 30 -day complete stop in the fighting, despite Trump’s push. In addition, a partial ceasefire in the Black Sea which could allow safer shipments has dropped conditions imposed by Kremlin negotiators.

“We consider the models and solutions proposed by the Americans very seriously, but we cannot simply accept them all as they are,” said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov.

Moscow takes an agreement to facilitate shipping in the Black Sea in order to “get the efforts to a general cease-fire and extract additional western concessions”, according to an assessment on Monday by the Institute for the Washington Study of the War Reflection Group.

Trump reported that he could consider new oil sanctions against Russia – development Ukraine would see favorably.

“I believe that we have reached the point where stronger sanctions are necessary, because I believe that the Russians break the promises they made in America,” Zelenskyy said on Tuesday at a joint press conference with Baerbock in kyiv.

“For us, the decisive action is crucial. Words are not enough,” added Zelenskyy. “We are those who suffer.”

Putin previously excluded a temporary rupture of hostilities, claiming that this would only benefit Ukraine and its Western allies by letting them reconstruct their arsenals. He insisted that Moscow wishes a complete agreement that would provide sustainable regulations.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that a breakthrough in the negotiations is not imminent.

“The problems we discuss in relation to the Ukrainian regulations are quite complex and they require a lot of additional efforts,” Peskov said at a conference call with journalists.

New drone attacks against energy facilities

Meanwhile, the deadly attacks of Russia and Ukraine continued, and they are preparing for spring campaigns in their attrition war along the front line of around 1,000 kilometers (620 miles).

Russia has not drawn from day after day, Russia has not taken any Shahed drones on Ukraine for the first time in more than five months, according to the authorities.

But Andrii Kovalenko, the head of the Ukraine Security Council counter-information branch, has not detected any change in the Russian strategy.

“For the moment, that does not mean anything,” he said on Telegram.

The Russian Defense Ministry accused Ukraine of having launched new drone attacks against energy facilities in the Belgorod region in Russia and the part controlled by Russia in the Zaporizhzhia region of Ukraine. Zelenskyy accused Russia not to maintain its commitment to a cease-fire targeting the energy infrastructure.

“I asked our team to transmit information through various institutions on Russia’s violations of the agreement so as not to hit the energy facilities,” he said, adding that the reports were sent almost daily. “We share this information with the United States, and we see that America is starting to understand it.”

Ukraine European donors say they will continue to support kyiv’s efforts to defeat Russia’s invasion. Zelenskyy said that a door meeting with military officials from several partner countries will take place on Friday to discuss more the possible deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine as part of the future security guarantees.

“It will be the first in-depth meeting … Based on the proposals prepared by the Ukrainian side,” he said.

“A fair and long -term peace”

Putin receives military aid from North Korea and Iran.

China has also provided diplomatic support to Russia and has provided economic aid by trade in energy and consumption goods.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a visit to Moscow, said on Tuesday that “some results were obtained” in Washington’s attempt to end the war while American-Russia has improved under Trump.

Beijing supports the objective of “a fair and long-term peace agreement acceptable to all parties involved,” he said in an interview with the Russian news agency Ria Novosti.

At the start of his meeting with Putin, Wang said they would discuss future relationships. “The Chinese-Russia relationship will not remain motionless, but will not become larger,” he said.
