General Hospital’s Johnny Wactor killed in shooting

Johnny Wactor was shot and killed Saturday in downtown Los Angeles. On Memorial Day, more details about his death were revealed.

May 26, 2024: According to KTLA, Wactor was shot during an attempted catalytic converter theft. “Police said the man saw three men steal the catalytic converter from his vehicle. When he confronted them, they turned and shot him,” they wrote. TMZ reports that police have not released a description of the suspects.

Wactor played Brando Corbin in General Hospital for more than 160 episodes. He began his career on television Military wives for life. In addition to his recurring role in General Hospital, he appeared on shows such as Westworld, The OA, Station 19, And NCIS. He is survived by his mother, Scarlett, and brothers, Lance and Grant. He was 37 years old.

May 27, 2024: Wactor was reportedly shot while protecting his colleague. His brother, Grant, told the Daily Mail that Wactor died after leaving a bartending shift in DTLA. He was escorting a colleague to her car when he spotted the theft in progress. At first, he thought his car was being towed. Wactor approached the scene, hoping to get out of the tow, when a man pulled out a gun. “And then once he turned around, he saw what was happening and he put his colleague behind him,” Grant said. “And that’s when they shot him.”
