Elizabeth MacRae dies at 88

Elizabeth MacRae is dead.

The actress, best known for her recurring roles in General Hospital And Gomer Pyle, USMCdied at age 88.

MacRae died where she grew up, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on May 27.

MacRae made her television show debut with the role of a witness in the courtroom series The Verdict Is Yours.

MacRae would later appear on television shows like Route 66, Surfside 6, Rendezvous, The Fugitive, Judd for the Defense, Gunsmoke, Bonanza, I Dream of Jeannie, The Andy Griffith Show, and many more, during a career that spans 25 years.

One of his most famous roles was that of Gomer Pyle, USMCwhere she plays Gomer’s girlfriend, Lou-Ann Poovie.

MacRae also had a few serials in his list of credits.

She appeared in General Hospitalwhere she played Meg Baldwin from August 1969.

She continued to work on the ABC daytime soap opera until 1973, when the character was killed off.

She also starred in Another world, Days of our lives, Guiding light, And Search tomorrow.

MacRae’s film credits include Live in a Goldfish Bowl, Everything’s Ducky, The Incredible Mr. Limpet, And The Conversation of Frances Ford Coppola.

She is survived by five stepchildren, Terry Halsey, Peter Halsey, Hugh Halsey, Cate Halsey and Alex Halsey Topper.
