General Hospital Actor Johnny Wactor’s Cause of Death Revealed

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has confirmed that actor Johnny Wactor died from a gunshot wound to the chest. His manner of death is classified as a homicide.

Wactor was shot and killed early Saturday morning, May 25, in Los Angeles while confronting three armed robbers who were trying to steal a catalytic converter from his car. The suspects fled the scene and the LAPD asked for the public’s help with tips.

In a May 28 press release, Los Angeles police said that, based on witness statements, Wactor had finished his work as a bartender at a local bar and was walking to his vehicle when “he was confronted to three individuals who had lifted Wactor’s vehicle. with a jack and were stealing the catalytic converter.

“Without provocation, the victim was shot and killed by one of the individuals,” police said. “All three suspects involved were wearing dark clothing and driving a dark colored sedan. The suspects fled north on Hope Street. The Central Homicide Bureau is investigating this case and is asking for the public’s help.

Wactor’s family said the actor was walking a co-worker to her car and, after encountering the thieves in Wactor’s car, the actor positioned himself in front of his co-worker just before he was shot. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Wactor appeared on the ABC daytime soap opera General Hospital between 2020 and 2022, playing the role of Brando Corbin. His other television credits include Station 19, Westworld, NCIS And Criminal minds among others. On the cinema side, we recently saw him in Dead Talk Tales: Volume Ireleased this year, in which he played Marcus.
