Gene hackman and his 33 -year -old wife, Betsy Arakawawere found dead in their house in Santa Fe, NM, on February 26 by two maintenance workers who spied on their bodies through a window from the outside of the house. According to the authorities, they alerted the guardian of the closed community where the couple lived and this person called 911.
“No, they don’t move,” the appellant told 911, according to an audio recording. “Please send someone here quickly.”
When the sheriff deputies from Santa Fe arrived, they found Arakawa, 65, on the floor of a bathroom on the left of the Frontole. She was dressed in sweatshirts and tracksuit pants, according to an affidavit of search mandate on February 27 obtained by E! News, and there was a bottle of open prescription pill and loose pills scattered on the counter.
Hackman, 95, was on the ground in what the deputies described as a cloakroom near the kitchen, according to the mandate. A walking cane and sunglasses near the body.
One of the couple’s three dogs – initially poorly identified as their German shepherd bear, was actually their Australian mixture Kelpie Zinna – was found dead in a bathroom closet, depending on the mandate. Another healthy dog was found near Arakawa’s body and the other, also in good health, ran outside.
A search warrant was executed at home around 9:30 p.m. on February 26 and Hackman and the Arakawa bodies were removed the next morning.
