‘Genderfluid’ Biden official allegedly stole woman’s luggage

“Openly genderfluid” Sam Brinton, an MIT graduate who joined the Joe Biden administration earlier this year as deputy assistant secretary of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Spent Fuel and Waste Disposal, was charged with a felony last month for allegedly stealing a woman’s luggage.

The incident reportedly happened in Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) on September 16, when a woman arriving from New Orleans went to the baggage carousel to find that her navy blue Vera Bradley roller bag was missing. By Alpha News:

Law enforcement in Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) was alerted to a missing suitcase in the baggage claim area on September 16. The victim, an adult woman, said she flew to MSP on a Delta flight from New Orleans and went to pick up her checked baggage at carousel seven.

Airport records confirmed the Vera Bradley navy wheelie bag arrived at 4.40pm but was missing from the carousel. Law enforcement therefore reviewed CCTV footage from the baggage claim area and observed Brinton removing a navy blue wheelie bag from Carousel Seven, according to a criminal complaint.

The complaint states that Brinton removed a luggage tag from the bag, placed it in a purse he was carrying, and “then left the area at a rapid pace.” Brinton arrived at MSP airport around 4:27 p.m. on an American Airlines flight from Washington, D.C., but did not check in any baggage, meaning he had no reason to go to baggage claim , according to the complaint.

The victim, who estimated the bag cost $2,325, confirmed to police that the navy blue bag Brinton took from the surveillance footage did indeed belong to him. Brinton then took an Uber to the InterContinental St. Paul Riverfront hotel where he checked in with the blue bag, according to the criminal complaint. He then returned to the airport on September 18 with the same bag in hand when he left for Washington, DC.

On October 9, police questioned Brinton about the bag and whether he “took anything that didn’t belong to him.” Brinton reportedly replied, “Not that I know of.”

“If I took the wrong bag, I’m happy to return it, but I don’t have clothes for another individual. It was my clothes when I opened the bag,” he told police.

Two hours after the interview, Brinton then allegedly called the interviewer and admitted to not being “entirely honest”. According to Brinton, he mistakenly took the navy blue bag because he was tired from his trip and “got nervous” realizing the bag belonged to someone else upon arriving at his hotel room. Not knowing what to do, Brinton then allegedly told police that he left the woman’s clothes in the hotel room drawers and took the bag with him anyway to keep up appearances.

Brinton reportedly did not return the bag to the victim and police say no clothing was found in the hotel room. His first hearing is scheduled for December 19 in Hennepin County.

Prior to his appointment to the Biden administration, Brinton openly opposed conversion therapy and taught “Kink 101” workshops on college campuses, according to National Pulse. In one particular studio, Brinton wore a dress standing above three men wearing leather dog masks. Brinton called it a “puppy play” fetish in a 2016 Metro Weekly article.

“One of the hardest things about being a manager is that I’ve honestly had people say, ‘Wait, you have sex with animals? ‘” Brinton said of the fetish. “They think it’s abusive, it’s taking advantage of someone who maybe isn’t acting on a level of human responsibility… The other misperception is that I have a really messed up background, like, have- I had a horrible childhood trauma that made me love having sex with animals?
