Gaza’s paramedical paramedics were shot down in the upper body “with the intention of killing”, says the red crescent | War of Israel-Gaza

The autopsies conducted on 15 Palestinian paramedics and the civil emergency workers who were killed by Israeli forces in Gaza show that they were slaughtered in the upper body with “the intention of killing”, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent, which requires an international investigation into the attack.

The murders took place in the South Gaza Strip on March 23, a few days after an Israeli offensive renewed in the cunning territory of Hamas and sparked an international conviction.

The results of the post-mortems join an increasing set of evidence that strongly contradicts Israel’s account of the incident, including video sequences that show that vehicles were traveling with flashing headlights and red lights that identified them, with staff with high vests, when they were fired.

Germany, one of the donors closest to Israel in the EU, called on an urgent investigation into the incident on Monday. “There are now very important questions about the actions of the Israeli army,” said the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Christian Wagner after emerging the video sequences.

“An investigation and a responsibility of the authors are urgently necessary,” he said, adding that a complete investigation into the incident would be “a question that would ultimately affect the credibility of the Israeli constitutional state”.

The people killed included eight employees of the Red Crescent, six members of the Gaza Civil Defense Agency and an employee of the United Nations Agency for Palestinian refugees.

The bodies were then found buried near the shooting site in the Tal Al-Sultan region of Rafah City, in what the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs describes as a mass tomb.

Israeli defense forces (FDI) initially declared that his soldiers “had not attacked at random” no ambulance, insisting that they had shot “terrorists” who approached “suspicious vehicles”.

Lieutenant-Colonel Nadav Shoshani said the troops had opened fire on vehicles that had no prior authorization from the Israeli authorities and had extinguished their lights, a declared declaration by the video recovered from the mobile phone from one of the people killed.

The FDI later changed its history and conceded that its previous account had been “wrong”. He said on Sunday that at least six of the doctors were linked to Hamas, but had provided no evidence. None of the people killed was armed.

He said on Monday that his initial murders’ investigation had shown that the incident had occurred “due to a feeling of threat” and said six Hamas activists had been around.

The head of the Israeli army, Lieutenant-General Eyal Zamir, ordered a more in-depth investigation into the attack after the end of the first.

The President of the Red Crescent in the West Bank occupied by Israeli, Younis al-Khatib, told journalists in Ramallah: “There was an autopsy of the Martyrs of the Red Crescent and the Civil Defense. We cannot disclose everything we know, but I will say that all the martyrs have been slaughtered in the upper part of their bodies, with the intention of killing. ”.

He called for an international survey on killings, which the IDF announced separately that it was examining.

“Why did you hide the bodies?” Khatib asked Israeli forces involved in the attack. “We call on the world to form an independent and impartial international commission of investigation into the circumstances of the deliberate murder of ambulance teams in the Gaza Strip.

“It is no longer enough to speak of respect for international law and the Geneva Convention. It is now required of the international community and the United Nations Security Council to implement the necessary difficulty against all those responsible. ”

In the past 18 months of war, Israeli forces have conducted attacks that have killed hundreds of medical workers and United NGOs staff, including foreign nationals working in Gaza. Six members of World Central Kitchen, whose British James Kirby died in an Israeli attack sustained against their clearly marked vehicles.

Human rights organizations have long accused Israel of a culture of impunity with few soldiers who have ever been judicial.

A Palestinian journalist was killed and several others injured on Monday when Israel struck a media tent near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis.

According to the Palestinian Civil Defense, an organization affiliated with the Ministry of the Interior of Hamas, two people – Helmi al -Faqawi and a civilian, Yousef al -Khazandar – were killed when the Palestine Today agency was struck.
