Israeli strikes struck Deir al-Balah, in the center of Gaza, from where the soldiers said that rockets had been dismissed

Israel made fresh air strikes on Gaza after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered reprisals for one of the heaviest dams by Hamas in months.

The Israeli army said that around half of the 10 rockets that were taken from Gaza landed on Sunday inside Israel, while the rest was shot. One person was injured by the fall in debris, the Israeli doctors said.

Netanyahu published the instruction for a “strong response” during his way to Washington, where he must speak with American President Donald Trump.

The Ministry of Health managed by Hamas in Gaza said on Monday morning that at least 56 Palestinians killed by Israel in the previous 24 hours.

A Palestinian journalist was killed and nine other injured when an air strike struck a tent used by local media in Khan Younis, Southern Gaza, the media office of the Hamas government and Palestinian journalists, said.

Reuters’ news agency said images showed people who were trying to turn off a fire in the tent which, according to him, was inside the Nasser Hospital.

The dead journalist was identified by union journalists as Helmi al-Faqaawi of Palestine TODAY TV.

Israeli defense forces (FDI) did not comment on the incident.

Nasser, who is the largest hospital that still operates in Gaza, has been hit several times by the FDI since the start of the war in October 2023.

Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of using hospitals as secret bases and to store weapons, which the group denies.

Earlier, the FDIs said they had struck the launcher who had pulled the rockets in Israel, after ordering residents in several DEIR al-Balah districts in the center of Gaza to evacuate.

Presenting the prescription, the Arab spokesperson for the TSAhal, the LT Col Avichay Adraee, warned that Israel “would launch a serious strike on any area from which rockets are drawn”.

Hamas said it fired the rockets in response to the “Israeli civilian massacres in Gaza,” reported the Reuters news agency.

Several rockets landed in the city of Israelis in the south of Ashkelon, causing damage

Images of the Israeli city of Ashkelon have shown lightning in the sky while the sirens groaned and an explosion at the bottom of an apartment block during the attack of rocket on Sunday evening.

The rate and scale of Hamas’ rocket attacks fell sharply after the first months of the war, while Israel has intensively targeted its arsenals and launchers. But the group always intermittently pulles on Israel, in a sign that he still has capacities.

Israeli air strikes continued during the night after the attack on rocket launchers, the official Palestinian press agency WAFA reports that northern sites, from the Gaza center have been affected.

The efforts to try to restore a ceasefire continues, the French president Emmanuel Macron, holding talks in Cairo on Monday with the Egyptian president Abdul Fattah al-Sissi and King Jordan, Abdullah II.

Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Gaza War and Israel’s efforts to guarantee the release of the 59 hostages still held by Hamas would be on the agenda during his talks with Donald Trump in the White House on Monday.

Israel resumed its military campaign in Gaza last month, blaming Hamas for rejected an American proposal to extend a cease-fire that started in January. Hamas, in turn, accused Israel of having abandoned the initial agreement that the two parties had accepted.

The war was launched by the unprecedented attack of Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023, in which around 1,200 people were killed and 251 others brought back to Gaza as hostages.

Since then, more than 50,750 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli offensive, according to the Ministry of Health managed by Hamas.
