Gaza Aid Ship stuck at sea

The spokesperson Yasmine Asar said that the drone strike had targeted the ship’s generators. The videos published by the organizers have shown that the ship has swallowed up in flames and smoke, with audible noisy explosions. No injury has been reported but the ship is now blocked at sea.
For passengers on board and 40 activists on the ground in Malta – including the Swedish activist from the Climate Greta Thunberg – there is no doubt behind the strike. “It is frightening because we have carried out complete risk assessments before this humanitarian sail and we trusted the Minister of Defense (Israel Katz) said – that he would simply allow us to evacuate certain Gazans to Europe,” said Laura.
“But what happened on Thursday, when Palau suddenly asked us to withdraw his flag and expose ourselves as unprotected, showed not only how ruthless Israel is and how much his hand can reach, but also to what extent the other countries are accomplices-wishing to violate international law just to starve more babies to Gaza,” she added.
“It is frightening to know that governments, including mine, cooperate. It is frightening that ships loaded with weapons sail freely, but 30 people with humanitarian aid are bombed in the middle of the sea. ”

On Sunday, activists who were prevented from boarding gathered on the main square of Valletta with dozens of premises to protest against Malta’s refusal to leave the ship to accost or even allow it to pump the water from its lower bridge.
“The ship is at risk of flowing due to the intrusion of water and the international community prevents any access or assistance,” said Andrei, a pro-Palestinian activist who was to join the flotilla.
In an interview with The Times of Malta, Thunberg explained the reason for the organization of the mission: “At the moment, two million people are delivered to Israel in Gaza and it is our responsibility as human beings to do everything in our power to try to finish.”
For the moment, unless a humanitarian or health crisis takes place on board, the ship seems stuck indefinitely in international waters. No country has agreed to intervene. The government of Malta published a statement saying that it would assess the situation and would form a committee to investigate who was behind the drone’s strike.
