New rumors indicate that Samsung can drop the Nigitizer S Pen into the ultra galaxy S26 in favor of a new method. This would mean that the company could start delivering devices with magnetic back Qi2.
According to a sudden rumor of @PandaflashPro on Twitter / XSamsung can equip the ultra galaxy s26 with a pen technology different from that currently available in the ultra series. The current method uses a scanner, and key phones in Samsung pen have equipped the same method for years.
Theoretically, the deletion of the Nigitizer S means that there is more room in the device for other modules. An assumption made by the source would be that Samsung could actually add magnets to make the device fully compatible with Qi2.
We have seen Lots of “Qi2 ready” The promises have struck, but that simply refers to the ability to use magnetic cases. We are looking for a standard adoption complete with hidden magnets in the rear panel, similar to Magsage with Apple devices.
Another way to look at this sudden internal real estate left by the lack of scanner would be that Samsung could make the phone thinner, although it involves much more than removing the digitizer and a full recovery would probably be necessary. However, the absence of this older technology means that there is room to play with it, even if we have not succeeded what it could mean.
Samsung is about to launch the Galaxy z fold 7which carries the same pen technology, apparently. This phone should be launched on July 9, alongside the Galaxy Watch 8 Series.
