Galaxy S25 Ultra to have rounded corners like Galaxy Note 7, tipster says, thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra

Samsung may not change the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s display size or improve its battery capacity, but the company may make it more comfortable to hold thanks to a design change suggested by a tipster. Apparently, the company’s 2025 flagship will sport rounded corners similar to the volatile Galaxy Note 7, and that’s not the only change expected, as the Korean giant is rumored to make its next flagship thinner than previous-generation models.

The thickness of the Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to be around 8.4mm, making it slightly thinner than the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The “square” design of the Galaxy S24 Ultra may not be extended to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, as Ice Universe commented on X that Samsung would be moving towards rounded corners. Personally, we would welcome this change if it came to pass as it means the handset won’t be pointed at all four corners, meaning it won’t be awkward to hold the device comfortably. Perhaps the only downside of switching to rounded corners for consumers is that they can’t reuse the cases attached to the Galaxy S24 Ultra, assuming they upgrade to its direct successor.

As for the dimensions, the tipster claims that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will be a thin flagship measuring 8.4mm. This figure means that the Galaxy S24 Ultra is slightly thicker at 8.6mm, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra measures 8.9mm. In short, Samsung has been gradually reducing the thickness of its flagships over the years, which would explain why the company is struggling to surpass the 5,000mAh battery capacity threshold. However, the Korean manufacturer could adopt the “Glacier Battery” technology like OnePlus did with its Ace 3 Pro.

This will allow companies like Samsung to make their devices thinner, while using more energy-dense batteries that provide longer battery life. We are yet to know the remaining specifications of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and we are confident that all the relevant information will be made available to us before the official launch of the flagship which could take place early next year, so stay tuned listen.
