Spoiler alert: The story includes details on the final of season 3 in two parts of CBS ‘ Fire“A change in nature” and “I would do it again”.
EXCLUSIVE: Three seasons, cbs’ Fire makes things tremble. After keeping its main casting of origin of seven intact members since the pilot – something extremely rare these days – the drama of the firefighters will go to its fourth season without two of them, the sources indicate the deadline.
The series had set up a possible outing for Jordan Calloway, including the ambitious captain 42 Jake Crawford had given two weeks notice in pursuing better career opportunities elsewhere. Instead, the sources indicate that the deadline will be Stéphanie ArcilaWho embodies the firefighter, the paramedical and the Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) and the interest outside love Gabriela Perez, and Billy BurkeWho portrays the boss of Jake and the father of Bode, the chief of the battalion of Cal Fire Vince Leone, who will leave the series.
In an exclusive interview with Deadline, which you can read here, Fire The executive co-creators / producers Joan Rater and Tony Phelan and the executive producer / showrunner Tia Napolitano confirmed the exit of Arcila as a regular in the series, but would not comment on the departure of Burke because they wanted fans to guess exactly who would leave the series next to it.
While the fans were worried about Gabriela after the episode before the end of the final of season 3 in two parts of April 25 with her disturbed Haksman Finn (Blake Lee) in freedom, this story did not directly set out the exit of Arcila while Gabriela survived the Food Stalker unharmed – at least physically.
In fact, unlike the recent outing of Peter Krause from another firefighter drama, ABC 9-1-1nor the departures of Arcila and not Burke were revealed in FireThe final of season 3 of two hours, which ended with a cliffhanger on Friday with a life of three characters in the balance of the memory care establishment of Buena Vista where the father of Vince Walter (Jeff Fahey) was treated. England by fire, the building collapsed with Vince, his head of the CAL fire division, Sharon (Diane Farr), and the retired battalion chief Walter.
Not properly equipped, Vince and Sharon rushed to help Bode and Walter in the evacuation of the installation, which found itself on the way to a devastating forest fire. Already, distraught Bode was to be retained by Jake to return to help his family while the building was starting to collapse.
Gabriela was on the scene, given for the last time by looking at the unleashed fire with horror after the resolution of her Stalker scenario, Audrey (Leven Rambin) firing Finn in the chest while trying to remove Gabriela. The father of the latter Manny (Kevin Alejandro) – with the help of Gabriela and Audrey – ran to save the life of Finn. In the last minutes of the final, Finn received medical care while Audrey was taken by the police, with her unknown fate.
Diffusion series are under pressure to reduce budgets, and distribution reductions are a means of reducing costs. This was not the case for Firesaid executive producers in the interview.
“It really comes to what is the best in a creative way,” said miss.
Addition of Napolitano, “it’s a reality, there is a danger in this kind of work, so we wanted to honor this and really set up the issues”, noting that the series is “supported by the authenticity of the real heroes that our characters play, people die, they leave”.
Since Gabriela is at the end of season 3, executive producers of the series plan to bring Arcila back next season – and perhaps beyond – as a guest star.
“We love Stephanie, and we are committed to saying that the history of Bode-Gabriela does not stop here, it continues,” said Phelan. “We hope we can bring this character back, because we think they have such a great chemistry, and the public is really invested in both.”
Added Napolitano: “We hope to see her again very soon, to give her a good and not goodbye, but until later. In the history of the epic love of Bode and Gabriela, it is sometimes very useful for a desire, to miss it, to miss them, to have them really seeing them on the screen together, whatever they mean for each other. “
Asked at the deadline in a separate interview if it would come back, Arcila simply said: “I never say.” (You can read the exclusive interview here.)
Burke, who has since signed a guest role on the criminal thriller of Peacock Mia., is supposed to be part of several Fire Regulars of the series which, earlier this year, were invited to reduce their episodes for next season in what has become a common economy measure by studios. I hear that the actors have all refused and, in the end, no episodes is reduced for next season.
When they were asked whether a distribution departure is linked to this development, executive producers have rejected any correlation.
“No, it really comes out of wanting to be exciting storytellers,” said missing.

Gabriela, of course, will remain connected to the show through her father, Manny, who, in the final, was encouraged by Sharon to apply for the position of the Captain of Station 42. This position became vacant after Jake, after a little soul, took a work of captain in a neighboring city which came with the prospect of a promotion to the battalion chief, something in cards at 42 years soon.
This would probably change after the alleged death of Vince, and Calloway would remain on the show, making Jake a better candidate to succeed Vince as a battalion chief.
Gabriela became known for her disorderly love life. His mandate in the show included the high -level – and favorite romance of fans with Bode as well as his involvement with Jake, almost marriage to Diego and, more recently, the toxic Finn relationship. Throughout all this, she maintained a close link with her father who was ready to blame the Finn shooting when he first thought that it was Gabriela who had pressed the trigger.
In the interview with Deadline, Arcila talks about the conclusion of the Arc of Stalker’s history, her time on FireAnd what she hopes that the future is for Gabriela.
“I think she could continue as a firefighter, I think she could continue as an EMT, but I really think she will never stop learning and growing up,” said Arcila.
A veteran of the third generation of Cal Fire, Vince was excellent in his work but often got into danger and tragedy. He was also tough on the edges and had communication problems, then, when he took care of those around him, he sometimes ended up hurting them.
Vince’s exit arc was underlined by reconciliation with his father after the diagnosis of Walter’s dementia, which Vince first found it difficult to accept. The process resulted in the recent episode of “Fire and Ice”, featuring guest Jelly Roll during his acting beginnings.

Elsewhere in the final of season 3, Eve (Jules Latimer) and his crew fought hard but could not save three rocks from unleashed forest fires, while Sharon and Renée (Constance Zimmer) won a major victory against the Oxalta chemical society.
In the post-mortem interview with Deadline, Rate and Phelan and Napolitano discuss the reasons for the reshuffles of the actors and the way the departures came. They approach the events of the final and how he resets the series in the future.
