“We have to respect Liverpool but of course do our job and trust each other, we had a great first half, almost perfect in the way we controlled and blocked,” Fulham manager Marco Silva said. “In the second half, we equalized them every time.

“I know the quality of Mitrovic and I’m here to get the best out of my players. Mitrovic is not just goals, he puts constant pressure and the job he has done is fantastic.”

Fulham scored their first goal in the 32nd minute when he slammed into the right side through Neeskens Kebano.

Kebano handed the ball to Kenny Tete who planted a cross into the box, which Mitrovic headed past Alisson.

Nunez then scored to save the blush for Liverpool on his Premier League debut. He replaced Roberto Firmino in the 51st minute and scored just after the hour mark.

Salah slid a low ball into the box which the Uruguay international guided Marek Rodak from close range.

Fulham then received a penalty after Mitrovic fell under a challenge from Virgil van Dijk in the 72nd minute. The Serbian international coldly converted the free kick.

Salah equalized for Liverpool in the 80th minute after Nunez set him up.

Jordan Henderson was close to completing Liverpool’s comeback when he hit the crossbar from outside the box five minutes into added time.

“The best thing about the game was the result,” Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said. “We got a point in a very bad game. The result was good, I don’t think we deserved more than that. The performance can be improved significantly.

“We could have won the game because we had good chances but it was probably a bit too much today.”
