Season two of Playdate is here, bringing with him two new games for the original yellow pocket computer each week until July 3. And if the first two titles are an indication of what will be this season, it will certainly be an excellent. Season two started on May 29 with the Arcade action match Defender of the support point – Studio behind FTL: faster than light And In the breach – And Deliciously cold Dig! Dig! Dino!. The two games could not be more different from each other, but they are both full -fledged bangers.

Panic also released Blippo +which can only be described as a cable television fever dream, With the first drop of season two, and it’s incredibly weird.

Sub-assembly games

“Survive for 10 minutes!” almost looked like a threat when I started reading Defender of the support pointGuide how to play. Between all the information on the screen you need to pay attention to, the many different types of enemies that attack and the various weapons upgrades that you can win during a race, there is a lot to take and I prepare for a tense and complicated game experience. But, although it can be closer to the case in difficult mode, I found that Defender of the support point was not so punishing a shooter in normal mode. It’s a challenge, that’s for sure, but with a surprisingly achievable goal that I was able to appreciate without losing my head. At least, not before crossing the 10 -minute brand. After that, all of the hell stands out.

In Defender of the support pointYou are positioned in the center of a circular arena and you must repel a continuous swarm of enemies. Your shield will suffer damage each time an enemy collides with it, and once sufficiently violated this area, it is the game. To avoid this, you must shoot them by one, using the crank to target your weapon and the D-PAD to shoot. Some enemies can be removed in a single blow, but others – distinguished by their filled appearance – require several shots. Over time, you will gain weapons improvements to build a more powerful defense system, with options like large guided projectiles and a scourge that can knock out several enemies in a single sweep.

It is unexpected and unexpected. The music is beautiful and soothing, giving the whole a pleasant atmosphere despite the fact that you are surrounded by enemies at a given moment and that you try not to die. Once I realized that it was absolutely possible to survive 10 minutes and even go beyond, I was sucked in the loop to try again and again to beat my high scores. I would love to see a global ranking for this game at some point, because I just know that I would be struck by the duration of the duration of the duration.

DOM2D and Fáyer

I cannot think of anything that I prefer to do right now rather than pretending to be a paleontologist and to dig with casualness for the bones. No thought, just dig. This is exactly this Dig! Dig! Dino! continued, and it’s great.

You work as part of a team (entirely composed of anthropomorphic animals) on the site of certain truly unusual dinosaurs fossils, and it is your work to dig up new bones and artifacts. Once you have the whole skeleton of a particular dinosaur, you can scan it in the laboratory to reveal what it was when it was alive. This information, associated with the particular artefacts dispersed around the site, painted an image of some fairly strange activities that have been for a long time. For example, some of these dinosaurs seem to have had crystals that come out of their bodies, and it seems that they have been warned of the asteroid extinction event. Fish!

The gameplay is extremely weak issues – it’s one for when you just want to play something that will occupy your hands. You are equipped with a shovel, a drill and a radar gadget to detect objects below the surface, and have no objectives sensitive to the time to be achieved. However, you only have a lot of energy, which will be consumed with each use of your tools. When you exhaust yourself, the turn is over. But you can visit each site as many times as you need to find all the dinosaurs hidden there, so it can be a really relaxed company if you wish.

It’s a great time, with a fun story to attach everything together. You will also get a few hours of solid play, and the simplicity of this means that you can put it and come back later without having to accumulate your memory to determine where you stopped. I loved it.

Panic

What can we even say Blippo +? This bizarre “television 1 -bit” experience came as a bonus with the first games of season two, and it is something. Panic first Taquié Le Taquin in December 2024 As a vapor title, but here it is for the playdate now, with a list of channels that play hallucinating and femtofax programs, an interactive babbleman in a way where you can find affirmations, a neighborhood drama, a chatter between amateur astronomers and more. Panic describes him as “comparable to an old episode of The twilight zone“But it’s more like an old episode of The twilight zone If he was made by Tim & Eric and broadcast after midnight in adults swimming. I think I am obsessed with that?

I’m really interested in seeing where it goes. I would completely park my game date in a quay (but not the stereo quay 3) On my desk and leave Blippo + Run in the background all day if it has enough fresh equipment to maintain it. The song playing alongside the endless screen to scroll Blippo + Guide TV is already stuck in my head, and I don’t hate it. THE program guide With this week’s calendar is online, if you are curious to know what’s going on right now.
