Put the chip!
The Food and Drug Administration has increased the recall of one of the most popular chips in Froto-Lay, noting that they “could cause death,” WKRC reported.
Tostina Cantina’s traditional yellow corn tortilla crstilles were recalled for the first time on March 26 after Froto-Lay voluntarily recalled a lot of products.
A limited number of 13 oz. Bags can include Nacho cheese tortilla croustilles, which means that they can contain milk.
This could present a “risk of a serious or fatal allergic reaction” for those who suffer from an allergy or a sensitivity to dairy products.
According to WKRC, the recall has now been upgraded to class I – the highest risk level.
This means “there is a reasonable probability” that consumption of chips could “cause serious unfavorable consequences for health or death” for some consumers.
Milk is one of the eight “main food allergens” of the FDA and can trigger serious allergic reactions in sensitive individuals, including hives, cramps, dizziness, swollen vocal cords and even unconsciousness.
The badly labeled bags of chips were distributed to a mixture of retailers, including grocery stores, amenities and pharmacies, as well as distributors of electronic commerce, in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tenness, Virginia and Virginia and Virginia and Virginia and Virginia Virginie-Western.
