The fourth round of the French Open continues with Novak Djokovic returning to action after arriving at 3 a.m. Saturday evening.

Djokovic, 37, beat Lorenzo Musetti in the latest result in French Open history to keep his hopes of winning a 25th Grand Slam title alive. The world number 1 now faces Argentina’s Francisco Cerundolo after other players including Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek criticized the tournament schedule and warned Djokovic’s late-night epic was ‘not healthy’ .

Elsewhere today, Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina are in action as they look to reach the quarter-finals. Rybakina faces Elina Svitolina in the opening match on Philippe-Chatrier before Sabelanka takes on American Emma Navarro. Djokovic then returns against Cerundolo before the night session features a meeting between German fourth seed Alexander Zverev and 21-year-old star Holger Rune.

The 17 year old Mirra Andreeva could set up a fascinating clash against Sabalenka if she goes through the French player Varvara Gracheva Today, However.

Andreeva is a rising star and faced former Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka in a three-set match that lasted over two and a half hours in the second round, before beating Peyton Stearns.

Rybakina, who went through this earlier, will face either Jasmine Paolini Or Elina Avanesian. Paolini, Italian 12th seed, has the break of service in the third decisive set.

Sabalenka has yet to drop a set in her French Open campaign, which now continues against 22nd-ranked American Emma Navarro over Philippe-Chatrier.

And the two-time Australian Open champion is off to a flying start by knocking Navarro down in the opening game of the match.

Carlos Alcaraz pleased with Roland-Garros progress

Carlos Alcaraz believes his French Open campaign is getting better and better after overtaking Felix Auger-Aliassime to reach the quarter-finals, where he will face Stefanos Tsitsipas tomorrow.

Alcaraz had questions about his form and fitness after arriving at the French Open with a right forearm injury, but beat Auger-Aliassime 6-3 6-3 6-1.

“I think I played high level tennis. Really focused. No ups and downs. I’m happy with everything. My serve, my shots, my movements on the court,” he said.

“I think the most important thing is that I believe in myself. It doesn’t matter if I don’t have too many matches in mind or if I haven’t come with a lot of rhythm.

“I just believe in myself with my team. We did a really good job every day before we came here and every day here. After each practice and each match, I was getting better and better.

“Here, on the Philippe Chatrier court, it’s easy to play… the history of this court and this tournament, it’s better to play and arrive at 100%.”
