Motorists in the East County and Carlsbad areas can expect highway closures in various locations over the next few days.
Caltrans crews were scheduled to conduct a weekend closure of all lanes of Route 125 southbound from 9 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Monday for concrete slab replacement.
Southbound SR-125 motorists south of State Route 94 will exit via the Jamacha Road exit ramp and re-enter the highway using the on-ramp, a statement from the State Department of Transportation said. ‘State.
Motorists traveling southbound on SR-125 before SR-94 will be detoured onto westbound SR-94 to avoid the closure. Westbound SR-94 traffic can connect to SR-125 via Interstate 805 south to State Route 54 east to SR-125 north.
On Monday, crews will close all northbound lanes along Interstate 5 between Carlsbad Village Drive and State Route 78 from 11:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. The closure will allow crews to continue installing an overhead signal structure that covers all traffic lanes.
Northbound I-5 motorists will exit at Carlsbad Village Drive and follow the detour to El Camino Real. Motorists can enter northbound I-5 from Vista Way or SR-78.
